What do we do?

Summer Yachting runs a unique week-long sailing trip which takes place once a year in the Mediterranean.

For just one week, in a different location each year, we charter a few yachts, sail between islands, visit incredible places (both on and off the map), and eat good food. We do things other sailing trips don’t do (like sailing at sunrise!), and have a different, more culture-focussed ethos.

Our guests, usually aged between 20-30, are a mix of friends who are returning, and people who are joining for the very first time. Everyone is welcome, and no sailing experience is required!

Our team arranges everything – the boats, the route, the insurance. All you need to do is sign up, and book your flights.

Although our flagship Summer Yachting trip is the main event, we occasionally run other trips in other parts of the year. Keep an eye on our newsletter for those!

And, new for 2025, our team is also starting to offer a bespoke service – applying our experience garnered across the Mediterranean to organising more laid back, highly customised, tailored trips for families and small groups of friends.

  • Explore

    Sailing is the best way to see the most places in a week. Every day, we’ll sail to a different town, stopping off in secret bays and coves along the way for lunch and to swim – going ashore by dinghy if you wish. When we arrive in a new destination each afternoon, you’ll have dinner, and then head out and explore..

  • Sail

    We’ll sail for around 4 hours each day, and you’ll have a qualified skipper onboard who will captain the yacht for you and your friends. No experience of sailing is required, and how much you get involved is up to you – if you’re keen to learn or practice sailing, your skipper will be more than happy to show you the ropes!

  • Swim

    A new bay every day. We scout the best swimming spots ahead of time, so we know where to take you. Around lunchtime, we’ll drop anchor in a new picturesque spot, have lunch, and those who wish to can swim in the warm waters of the Mediterranean. This is Oscar perfecting his backflip last year.

  • Relax

    46ft of deck space onboard your yacht means that you won’t be short of sunbathing space to chill out on during the day. You can swim in the sea anywhere, using the huge swimming platform and ladder at the rear of the boat. You’ll sleep in cabins onboard the yacht overnight.

  • Party

    From spontaneous boat parties onboard the yachts in the evenings, to nights in Greek bars, we can promise you won’t be bored onboard, and you’ll have a proper chance to get to know your fellow guests. We’ll take every opportunity to experience everything that Mediterranean nightlife has to offer.

A Day in the Life

  • Wake up.

    You’ll probably wake up with the Mediterranean sunrise, especially if you slept up on deck under the stars! It’s a relaxed start - head into town with your crew to grab breakfast, pick up any supplies you need, maybe visit the local market for fresh fruit and bread.

  • Sailing

    When everyone is ready to go, we’ll hoist the anchor, slip the lines, and begin to make our way towards a new location…

  • Lunch

    It can get hot in the middle of the day, so around 1pm you’ll drop anchor in a secluded bay somewhere along your route. You can swim in the sea - the water temperature is about 25°C, and there’s a swimming platform and ladder at the back of your yacht, along with a freshwater shower. Everyone makes and eats lunch together onboard.

  • Activities

    Despite what our skippers may tell you, it’s not all about the sailing on Summer Yachting trips. In the last few years, we’ve arranged group horse-riding sessions on a small Greek island, attended a wine tasting at an ancient Croatian vineyard, hiked up to an abandoned fortress, and visited the world’s best preserved amphitheatre!

  • Afternoon

    After an afternoon of good sailing (with you at the helm if you wish!), your skipper will bring the yacht into a new Mediterranean bay or marina for the evening, and when the boat is moored (parked), you’ll get changed and then head off into the town to explore (and stake out a restaurant for the evening meal!).

  • Evening

    On some evenings we will all eat together, and on others your skipper will be able to recommend the best places to try! If you’d prefer a quiet night on the yacht, you can also prepare a meal in the galley (kitchen) onboard.

  • Night

    After dinner, the night is still young! In certain locations, the nightlife is not to be missed. Of course, a spontaneous boat party onboard the yachts is always an option… Whatever floats your boat. After that, it’s back to the yachts to sleep.

This will be our third annual trip under the Summer Yachting brand!

Last year, we sailed three yachts around the Islands of Athens, and in the summer of 2022, 26 people sailed with us around the islands near Split, Croatia. Our team have been involved in planning and running similar trips since 2016.

Who are we?

The trip is run by friends, for friends.

Although this will be our third year as Summer Yachting, our team has been planning trips like this for years. We are all qualified and experienced skippers, speaking English as a first language and in the same age bracket as our guests. We run the trip both on and off the water.
